Book Details:

Celebrating a decade of releasing books to the world -Beatnpress brings you poems old and new from a number of writers associated with Beatnpress. This commemorative book goes back to poetry, and how Beatnpress came to be. Jason Disley decided in 2016 to re-release a book he had originally had published back in 1996. Inspired, he then wrote new collections, and then other poets and writers knocked at the door. From then on the platform was set. Since then a decade of poetry, short story anthologies, and memoirs, as well as novels have been published. This small book celebrates the diverse and eclectic in a modern way. Its Modernist Beat Poetry. Writers such as Robert Garnham, Beckie Nuttall and Carl Burkitt are joined by Jason Brummell, Curtis Tappenden and Ross Maclean-Bryant. Rob Massey turns his hand to poetry, and of course Danny Gray, Garrie Grant, and Karen Arm, and Flippant Remarks share their excellent verse. It is only natural that Jason Disley also contributes. As ever the Beatnpress founder wishes to share his poems and vision for what started with his first ever published collection -The New Beat Generation. That vision still holds strong, and although a New Beat Generation is fanciful, there is now a Modernist Beat Collective that is made up by writers, poets, artists and songwriters. Inspired by The Beat Generation, and popular culture - this book provides an insight into the poetry of the collective. Creativity is key, the poems are shared exactly as they were first shared in The Daily Beat which ran from March 15th until April 15th online. Musicality, jazz like rhythms and culture permeate the words bringing a collection together that hopefully inspires others to write.
